How to Measure Whether Your GenAI Project Is Working

If you cannot measure it, you cannot defend it. Pick your numbers before you build.

The simplest way to prove value is to measure one thing before and after launch.

  • Time saved per task
  • Tickets or requests handled per person
  • Response or turnaround time
  • Error or rework rate
  • User satisfaction

How to do it

Record the baseline first. Run the pilot with a small group. Compare the same measure afterward, and ask users what is still frustrating.

Review quality too, not only speed. A faster wrong answer is not a win.
